About This Course
Building on introductory knowledge, this Level 2 qualification provides a deeper understanding of mental health conditions commonly experienced in the workplace. Learners will develop the skills to listen effectively, provide appropriate support, and signpost colleagues to professional services.
This qualification plays an important role in reducing workplace stigma and creating supportive environments where mental health can be openly discussed.
Who Should Attend?
This course is suitable for anyone aged 18 and over who:
- Wants to develop a deeper understanding of mental health conditions
- Seeks to support colleagues more effectively
- Wishes to contribute to positive mental health culture in their organisation
The course is beneficial for all employees and particularly valuable for those in supervisory or support roles.
NB: You don’t have to have completed a level 1 Award in Introduction to Mental Health in the Workplace to enrol on the level 2.
What You Will Learn
Throughout this two-day course, you will:
- Understand mental health and its importance in the workplace
- Learn about roles and legislation relating to workplace mental health
- Develop awareness of common mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and self-harm
- Understand how to apply a Mental Health First Aid Action Plan
The course covers essential topics including:
- The meaning and importance of mental health
- Roles and responsibilities in workplace mental health
- Relevant legislation and employer responsibilities
- Promoting positive mental health culture
- Implementing core mental health standards
- Recognising signs of work-related stress, anxiety, depression, and other conditions
- Applying the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan
Assessment
The course concludes with a written assessment. Successful completion leads to the award of a Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Understanding Mental Health in the Workplace (RQF).
